Attention is a crucial mental resource that deeply influences learning, social connectivity and self-efficacy and yet it is often mismanaged. Participants in this webinar will learn how building concentration skills by merging awareness and actions can lead to greater task immersion essential for mastery of work. Sucheta’s practical strategies will help clinicians expand their toolkit to foster their desire to help all learners push past their distractibility and reduced effort.

Objectives

After completing this session, participants will be able to:
o Explain the role of the central executive in managing attention
o Assess the relationship between optimal awareness experience and enhanced work mastery
o Describe attentional strategies that help reduce effects of interference and manage task engagement

Level: Intermediate

Instruction at the Intermediate Level assumes some familiarity with the basic literature as well as some experience in professional practice within the area covered and is targeted for more experienced professionals. The pace of the training and difficulty of concepts presented require more advanced knowledge and skills than the Introductory Level. Examples used at this level are often based on recent research and case studies that are complex in nature.
