Course Description

In this course, participants will review literacy-based therapy and how it can facilitate meaningful and functional outcomes for our students. Participants will be presented with strategies to select high-quality books and to use those books when targeting a variety of speech and language goals. Relevant evidence and practical demonstrations will be provided to show SLPs how they can implement evidence-based strategies when targeting goals using literature.

Marisha McGrorty

Marisha earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. She has worked as a school-based SLP and shares therapy ideas and resources on her blog (SLP Now). Marisha also developed a membership for SLPs that includes digital tools and resources to streamline evidence-based therapy.Jeannie Nelson is an SLP with 10 years experience in the field.  She has worked in early intervention, private practice, and school settings. She has a passion working with children of all ages, especially preschool.  Jeannie is the latest addition to the SLP Now team!
